Bainbridge, Jan 8 -- Newton POWELL well known resident of Bainbridge died at the home Tuesday night from a complication of diseases following an attack of pneumonia and heart trouble. Deceased was the son of John and Elizabeth Powell, well known early residents who resided two miles north of New Ross and grew to manhood there. He was married and later moved to a farm near Bainbridge. Mr. and Mrs. Powell were the parents of 3 children: Ethel Heffner of Stone Bluff, Indiana; Icelone Powell of Indianapolis and Thomas Powell who resides in Crawfordsville. The mother and children survive as do five brothers; Messer B. and William of New Ross; John of Oklahoma; Charles of Wallace and Elmer of Indianapolis. Two half-sisters, Mrs. Bettie Bowman and Mrs. Eliza Miller also survive. Two own sisters of Mr. Powell, Mrs. Melissa Stoner and Mrs. Melvina Byrd preceded him in death. The funeral services will be conducted from New Ross Christian Church Friday at 11 o'clock a.m. - kbz
